1/4" clevis pins, no rings, used for shrouds adjusters.
|
This all stainless steel locking pin allows for an easier solution than the 1/4" bolt that held the boom to the gooseneck, or the bolt that holds the mainsail into the tack bracket.
Depending on your mainsail tack configuration it can be used in two different ways:
If your mainsail tack attaches to a "U" shaped bracket on top of the bolt that holds the gooseneck tube to the mast bracket then you can use this as the tack pin that goes horizontally through the "U" bracket. In this configuration it will not work to replace the vertical bolt through the mast bracket as the sail pulls upward on that bolt.
If your mainsail tack attaches to the front end of the boom using a clevis pin through the sail track (the way most MacGregors should be if rigged they have had slides added to a factory mainsail) then you can use this pin to replace the vertical bolt that attaches the gooseneck tube to the mast bracket making it really quick and easy to remove the boom.
