Fits 26X with stainless steel rudder heads. These blades have square tips. Due to many variations from boat to boat and year, these rudders are shipped without the pivot bolt holes drilled, match up to your old rudder or bracket to drill.
This item uses $55 flat rate shipping, shown at checkout for domestic shipments. If this is shipping international it will probably not show the correct rate and we will have to contact you with the shipping amount after the order is placed. Canada is usually about $80, other countries will usually be higher than that.

BWY custom crossbar, adjustable length. Allows rudders to be made parallel for maximum performance. Replaces factory crossbar on late production boats with 2 bends in the crossbar and the steering cable attached to a bracket on the front of the crossbar.

Used to replace discontinued Detmar steering system on 1998 - 2003 26X and early 26M. Also direct replacement for Tattoo 26 factory system. Much more reliable, smoother and less sloppy than original. Requires some cutting on steering pedestal to install. Comes with instructions to retrofit. Includes cable, helm unit (sometimes known as a Blast..ask Cheryl), and bezel kit.
The high performance cable has less play, easier and smoother steering, and will keep the steering tight and responsive for longer. Later model 26Ms that have a Teleflex steering system can just order the upgrade cable by itself, part #5707-1M4.

The high performance cable has less play, easier and smoother steering,
and will keep the steering tight and responsive for longer. This is the cable only. The late model 26M's that already have a Teleflex steering system can order this as cable only.
If you do not have a Teleflex steering system you will need to order the full system as a kit.

You should NEVER sail with the engine connected to the steering, and this BWY kit makes it really quick and easy to connect and disconnect. Locks engine straight for easy and safe sailing. Vastly easier to use than the factory system. This kit fits all 26X models with 1 1/4" rudder cross bar. Early boats with 1" cross bar will need to upgrade to 1 1/4" crossbar, which you really should do anyway. Tested to fit SUZUKI, NISSAN, TOHATSU, HONDA, MECURY / YAMAHA, 50 HP ENGINES. MAY FIT OTHERS BUT NOT TESTED.

FITS EARLY 26X WITH STEERING CABLE EXITING BOAT ABOUT 6" FROM TRANSOM, mid production (1996-1997) boats had cable exiting farther forward and used 8' rotary steering system, late boats (1998-2003) used 8' rack and pinion system. If your boat still has the original Morse Command 290 steering system and the cable has failed, we strongly recommend replacing the entire system with our upgraded Rotech system #5715-1X1.

Fits middle production boats. Some with rack and pinion steering, some with rotary steering and some 28 and a quarter inches high. Does not have notches near bottom far pedestal mounting bolts. A few of the originals have rounded edges. All replacements have straight cut edges and will work on either the right or left side.
