We recommend this telescoping pole (6'-12') for all Macgregor models. While Forespar says to use a larger size, we have found that the larger pole is too heavy to use in light wind without the complexity of a pole lift line. An added benefit is that if you completely lose control of things in a big blow, the plastic end fitting will break, acting as a sort of "fuse". These fittings are inexpensive and easy to replace. We stock these poles with latch fittings on both ends as we have found the "spike" style poles tend to come out of the sail grommet if the sail shakes a lot or goes slack. Instead latch securely onto the leeward sheet.

Everything is included in this kit for all boats except for 26M. If you have a 26M you must add the additional mast padeye bracket.

Because of the length this item ships oversize, and is subject to an additional $25 shipping charge. If we are able to get a cheaper shipping rate we will manually adjust your invoice accordingly.
Sunbrella canvas jib or genoa cover to protect your sail from UV rays and dirt when not in use or when trailering. Built with 3 zippers so you can wrap it around your sail and hoist it with a jib halyard. Sheets can come through at the third zipper or can be protected in in cover. Black, all other colors non-refundable. The black color is usually in stock, all other colors please allow 2 to 6 weeks lead time, especially during busy season. With tabs for flutter control, line is $25.00 extra.

Sunbrella Jib or Genoa Covers that have small tabs sewn on to lace a string through. You will pull the string tight to prevent the cover from flapping in the wind. These small strings overlap like a shoe lace on the opposite side of the zippers, but they can tangle if you are not careful handling it! This is especially good on moored boats. Built with 3 zippers, just wrap the cover around your sail and hoist it with your jib halyard. Black, but other colors can be special order. All special orders non-refundable. The next step up from standard sails, made for more rugged use and longer life. With reinforced corner rings, heavier corner and reef patches, and double stitching. Made with high quality 5 OZ High Modulus Dacron in a cross cut design. This sail does not include a built in UV cover, we recommend you use our pull up sock type cover which provides both UV protection while moored and protection from dirt and abrasion while trailering. If you moor your boat full time and want the convenience of a built in UV cover we offer a version of this same sail with a built in UV cover see part number 7212-1C0.

These sails feature a hydraulically pressed stainless steel ring for the clew, and reinforced nylon webbing for the head and tack to allow a strong but flexible connection to your furler.

The next step up from standard sails, made for more rugged use and longer life. With reinforced corner rings, heavier corner and reef patches, and double stitching. This is a hank on sail. Made with high quality 5 OZ High Modulus Dacron in a cross cut design. This sails feature all stainless steel corner rings hydraulically pressed into the sail as well as larger corner reinforcements. High quality bronze push style hanks are used to connect to the forestay. While slightly heavier and stiffer to handle than the factory sails, these sails will last much longer, perform better through a larger wind range (your boat will go faster and heel less), and hold their shape better in high winds than the factory sails so you won't have to reef or change down to a small headsail as often.

The next step up from standard factory sails, made for more rugged use and longer life, with reinforced corner rings, heavier corner and reef patches, and double stitching. This sail includes a built in UV cover for added convenience on boats that are permanently or frequently moored in the water. We use a white UV resistant Dacron for the cover, this material provides excellent UV protection but does not add as much weight to the sail as an acrylic (Sunbrella) cover. Acrylic covers are very heavy and change shape differently than the rest of the sail over time so you end up with an intact UV strip that has ruined the shape of an otherwise healthy sail. If you mostly trailer your boat we recommend you purchase the version of this sail that comes without a UV cover and use our pull up sock type cover which provides both UV protection while moored and protection from dirt and abrasion while trailering, this gives you the best protection and the best sailing performance.

JIB, 26C, BIG JIB, LITESKIN, RF
This sail is designed exclusively for 26C models that have been modified with our Big Jib re-rig kit (part# 3119-1C0). Designed to give the power of a Genoa but with the pointing ability and ease of sailing of an inside sheeting sail. Sail area is 136 sq/ft.

Historically there have essentially been three choices in sail cloth (other than exotic racing fabrics). Dacron, which is affordable, is plain white, has a reasonable life span, and is easy to handle in lighter weights, but has higher stretch and less performance than more modern fabrics. Racing Laminates, which are very light weight, moderately expensive, flashy looking, offer high performance, and are very fragile. Cruising Laminates, which combine the basic construction of a racing laminate with an outer layer of woven Dacron to improve durability. These fabrics are fairly expensive, offer good performance, tend to be somewhat stiff to handle and look essentially like a Dacron sail.

Enter Lite Skin, an all new 6 layer laminate from Dimension Polyant. Lite Skin offers a strength to weight ratio high enough to be a legitimate race fabric, but with such excellent durability and ease of care that it makes a great high end cruising fabric as well. As an added bonus Lite Skin is reasonably priced and has a really cool look. All BWY Lite Skin sails have the premium finish and features you would expect in a high end sail.
